The Lincoln Elementary Local School Council (LSC) currently has an opening for one Community Representative. This is a mid-term appointment for the term ending June 30, 2020. Application materials may also be picked up from Terry Miles in the school office.
Please submit the necessary forms and a candidate statement to the Lincoln Elementary school office by 4:00 pm Friday, August 30, 2019. The Council invites candidates to make statements in person at the Tuesday, September 10, 2019 regular meeting of the LSC at which we intend to appoint a new community representative. Meetings for the remainder of the 2018-2020 term will be held at 6:00 pm in the school library on the following dates: • September 10, 2019 • October 7, 2019 • November 12, 2019 • December 10, 2019 • January 14, 2020 • February 11, 2020 • March 10, 2020 • April 14, 2020 • May 12, 2020 • June 9, 2020 Please note: Candidates must reside within the school attendance area, may not be a parent/guardian of a student currently enrolled at Lincoln Elementary, may not be an employee of the Board, must be at least 18 years old, and must pass a criminal background investigation. Local School Councils play a role in decision-making at the local school level. The primary responsibilities of the LSC includes approving how school funds and resources are allocated, approving and monitoring the implementation of the annual school improvement plan, and hiring and evaluating the school's principal.
