Date and Time: April 20, 2022 from 6 am to 7pm Voting eligibility: All Lincoln parents and any community member who live in the Lincoln Park School boundaries shown in the LSC Election Map are eligible to vote. Voting Guidelines: All Lincoln parents and community members can vote for up to 5 candidates from the combined list of candidates contesting for the position of parent representatives and community representatives. Make sure you put a "X" mark on your ballot for your vote to be valid. If you vote for more than 5 members, your ballot will become invalid. Voter identification: Parents can request to be verified from the school roster or by the school officials. To avoid any confusion, you may bring an ID card and a document establishing you are a parent (Ex: Report Card, Birth Certificate, Temporary Custody etc). Community members should bring two IDs showing their proof of residence within the school boundaries. (Ex: Driver's license, Chicago Public Library Card, Lease agreement, Medicare/ Medicaid card etc) Parents, community members and school staff are encouraged to vote in Local School Council elections tomorrow.

representative vacancy on the LSC for the 2021-2022 school year. This is a mid-term appointment for the term ending June 30, 2022. Please see the CPS website https://www.cps.edu/about/local-school-councils/ for information on eligibility, required training, and application materials. Please email the necessary forms (1-20, 2-20, 3-20), a candidate statement (4-20) and two forms of identification to the Local School Council at LincolnLSC615@gmail.com by 3pm on Friday, October 8, 2021. The LSC invites candidates to make statements in person at the October 13, 2021 regular meeting of the LSC at which we intend to appoint a new parent representative. Click HERE to access the Forms. Meetings for the remainder of the 2021-2022 term will be held at 6pm on the second Wednesday of each month in the school library (virtually during the Pandemic). Please note: Candidates must be a parent / legal guardian of a student enrolled at Lincoln Elementary School and must not be an employee of the Board. Local School Councils play a role in decision-making at the local school level. The primary responsibilities of the LSC includes approving how school funds and resources are allocated, approving and monitoring the implementation of the annual school improvement plan, and hiring and evaluating the school's principal. Anyone interested in school matters is invited to attend LSC meetings. The LSC meets monthly and its meetings are posted in the school calendar accessible on the school website. The Local School Council is the site-based management team of each Chicago Public School. Its primary responsibilities are to select the school’s principal, renew the principal’s contract, develop a Continuous Improvement Work Plan (CIWP, formally called the School Improvement Plan for Advancing Academic Achievement, SIPAAA) and develop the school’s budget for the school year. |
