LSC ELECTION RESULTS
The elected individuals will start their LSC terms on January 11, 2021 Parent Candidates (top 6 vote getters): Chris Santiago - 40 Radhika Dani - 53 Ursula Taylor- 85 Bobbi Gajwani - 23 Melissa Macek - 77 Carmen Gioiosa - 84 Kat Chairez - 81 Litcy Kurisinkal - 118 Community Candidates (top 2 vote getters) Justin From - 15 Jacqueline Wernz - 65 Nada Riley - 107 Teacher Candidates: Greg Thompson - 9 Ashley WIlliams - 7 Non-Teaching Staff Candidate: Paula Dongas - 11 On May 28, 2020, due to COVID-19 restrictions and the inability to hold an in-person election, CPS announced the following changes to the current LSC terms and upcoming elections.
1. The LSC election will take place on November 18, 2020 during report card pick up. If an in-person election is not possible, CPS will introduce a plan for mail in or electronic voting. 2. Current LSC member terms have been extended to 30 months; thus, the current LSC members will remain in place until January 10, 2021 unless a member become ineligible to hold office (e.g. the child of a parent member graduates or the member moves out of the district). 3. The term for the next LSC will be reduced to 18 months and end on July 1, 2022 in order to allow the district to return to its usual election cycle. After that, the term will revert to its usual two years. A copy of the letter from CPS discussing these changes can be found HERE. May's LSC Meeting will be held virtually by Google Meets on Thursday, May 14 at 6:00 pm. The link to the virtual meeting is HERE. Link to agenda HERE.
NOTE: the May 14th meeting will go into closed session for principal review at approximately 6:05 pm; only LSC members may attend the closed session. The meeting will go back into open session at 7:15 pm. Anyone may attend the open sessions from 6:00-6:05 and 7:15 on. April's LSC Meeting will be held virtually by zoom on Tuesday, April 21 at 6:00 pm. The link to the virtual meeting is HERE. The agenda for the meeting is HERE. Only LSC members may attend the closed session portion of the meeting; anyone can attend the open sessions, from 6:00-6:10 and from 7:15 forward.

The Lincoln Elementary Local School Council (LSC) currently has an opening for one Community Representative. This is a mid-term appointment for the term ending June 30, 2020. Please submit the necessary forms and a candidate statement to the Lincoln Elementary school office by 4:00 pm Friday, August 30, 2019. The Council invites candidates to make statements in person at the Tuesday, September 10, 2019 regular meeting of the LSC at which we intend to appoint a new community representative. Meetings for the remainder of the 2018-2020 term will be held at 6:00 pm in the school library on the following dates: • September 10, 2019 • October 7, 2019 • November 12, 2019 • December 10, 2019 • January 14, 2020 • February 11, 2020 • March 10, 2020 • April 14, 2020 • May 12, 2020 • June 9, 2020 Please note: Candidates must reside within the school attendance area, may not be a parent/guardian of a student currently enrolled at Lincoln Elementary, may not be an employee of the Board, must be at least 18 years old, and must pass a criminal background investigation. Local School Councils play a role in decision-making at the local school level. The primary responsibilities of the LSC includes approving how school funds and resources are allocated, approving and monitoring the implementation of the annual school improvement plan, and hiring and evaluating the school's principal.
