Noon Hour
During the winter, the PTA organizes “Noon Hour” activities during standard recess times for grades 1st through 4th. Noon Hour occurs one day of the week during the bleak winter months when, if the kids are forced to stay inside due to inclement weather, they will have someone to lead them in games, stories or projects during the 20 minute recess (their other choice is to sit in the Auditorium and quietly watch a movie). For parent volunteers, it is a chance for you to spend some time with your child and his or her classmates during the school day in a more relaxed way. There are arts and crafts supplies, games and other fun items located in the PTA locker at school that can be used. Or, feel free to bring in your own age-appropriate ideas and supplies.
WE ARE IN NEED OF A NEW CHAIR FOR NOON HOUR. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN COORDINATING THE NOON HOUR EFFORT, PLEASE CONTACT VOLUNTEER OUTREACH COORDINATOR, MELISSA MACEK @ melissa.macek@rcn.com
