Due to dangerous weather conditions, classes will be canceled for all Chicago Public School students on Thursday, January 8.
The expected weather conditions could make it dangerous for children to travel to and from school. Since the safety and security of our children and staff is of the utmost importance, we have decided to cancel classes. School is scheduled to resume for all students on Friday, January 9, but the final determination will be made on Thursday. Families seeking alternative youth programs may want to consider Chicago Park District facilities, which will be open during their normal operating hours. These times vary, so parents should check the Chicago Park District website or call their local park to determine schedules. Again, all classes are canceled for Thursday, January 8. Please pass this information on to any and all friends and family members who have children in CPS schools. Updates are available at www.cps.edu or by calling the CPS hotline at 773-553-1000. Families can also check the CPS Facebook page (www.facebook.com/chicagopublicschools) or follow us on Twitter @chipubschools. Thank you for your cooperation during these days of severe winter weather. Please stay safe. Chicago Public Schools Comments are closed.
