Dear CPS Parent or Guardian,
Classes for all Chicago Public School students will resume tomorrow, Friday, February 20th. Our staff is working to ensure that classrooms will provide all students with a warm, safe learning environment. Please remember to dress children warmly in several thin layers, including boots, hats, scarves and gloves to protect them from the cold. Please pass this information on to any friends and family members who have children in CPS schools. You can visit www.cps.edu for updates, or hear recorded information at (773) 553-1000. Again, classes will resume for all CPS students on Friday, February 20. Thank you. Barbara Byrd-Bennett CEO, Chicago Public Schools Dear CPS Parent or Guardian,
Due to dangerous weather conditions, classes will be canceled for all Chicago Public School students on Thursday, February 19. The expected weather conditions could make it dangerous for children to travel to and from school. Since the safety and security of our children and staff is of the utmost importance, we have decided to cancel classes. Families seeking alternative youth programs may want to consider Chicago Park District facilities, which will be open during their normal operating hours. These times vary, so parents should check the Chicago Park District website or call their local park to determine schedules. Again, all classes are canceled for Thursday, February 19. Please pass this information on to any and all friends and family members who have children in CPS schools. Updates are available at www.cps.edu or by calling the CPS hotline at (773) 553-1000. Families can also check the CPS Facebook page (www.facebook.com/chicagopublicschools) or follow us on Twitter at chipubschools. Thank you for your cooperation during these days of severe winter weather. Please stay safe. Sincerely, Barbara Byrd-Bennett CEO, Chicago Public Schools Abraham Lincoln Elementary will be reopen for regular school hours on Tuesday February 3rd, 2015.
Please share the information with your network of parents. Dear Lincoln families,
As of now, 12 noon on February 2nd, the street in front of the school, Kemper Place, is very dangerous and not passable due to the snow and high snow trenches. I do not recommend driving up Kemper Place when coming to school and dropping off your child(ren). Remember, the former Children's Memorial Hospital parking garage is free for you to park up to five hours during the day and is the best bet (2316 N. Lincoln). It's only one block away from Lincoln School. Mark Armendariz Principal Abraham Lincoln Elementary School 615 W. Kemper Place Chicago, IL 60614 (773) 534-5720 Dear CPS Parent or Guardian,
